Originally from Saint John, NB and now based in Fort McMurray, AB, DJ Hammer’s journey through music started early—behind a drum kit at age 3. Raised in a family where music ran deep, he explored sound from every angle before stepping into the booth and finding his calling as a DJ in his late teens.
He cut his teeth in Alberta’s club scene, finding his groove through the electrifying energy of Club NV, where he landed his first residency. From that moment, DJ Hammer was hooked on the magic of moving a crowd—not just playing tracks, but creating an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience with each set.
Hammer’s sound leans heavy into house—tech house, bass house, electro house—but he doesn’t believe in boxes. To him, the genre is just the palette; the art is in reading the room and building a set that lives and breathes with the crowd.
His resume includes radio mixes on Mix 103.7’s 5 O’Clock Remix Series, residencies at Pulse Ultra Lounge (Edmonton), and guest sets at Twist Ultra Lounge (Edmonton) and Rated Ultra Lounge (Calgary). His live-streamed show House of Hammer on Mixcloud gives fans a weekly taste of his signature sound while building toward his debut EP, dropping summer 2025.
The name “DJ Hammer” was born from a crowd-favorite dance moment—during Drop the Brohammer, he’d climb the subs and perform the “hammer” dance, earning the nickname and building the persona that’s become his signature.
Despite the challenges—shrinking club scenes, tough competition, technical fails—Hammer’s mission is clear: to create spaces where people feel free, safe, and fully themselves. “Music doesn’t care who you are,” he says. “It’s endless. I want people to let their inner child out and just dance.”
With an EP on deck and a season full of shows ahead, DJ Hammer is bringing the kind of energy that turns nights into memories.
